Newbie here, PIE homepage driving me nuts...

I tried using search but didn't find a fix for this.

I'm running the 071108 WM6 ROM.

When I try to set my homepage in PIE, it appears to change to whatever I selected, but after I close PIE and then reopen it later, it reverts to that damn file in the Windows directory. It does this whether I open up PIE using the button or the link in the start menu.

I checked out the path in the button shortcut and it refers to iexplore, not that default file in the Windows directory.

I'm sure that it's something obvious that I've overlooked but I'm out of ideas and getting frustrated with this.

BTW, thanks for this wonderful site.

I'm not sure what you could be doing wrong. I assume you are changing your home page like this:

1) Open the site you would like to use as home page
2) Tap Menu > Tools > Options > Use Current

So you are saying that once you perform the above steps, close IE, then reopen IE, the home page reverts back to whatever it was before? If so, that's pretty weird.

You could always try changing the value in the registry. To do this, follow these steps:

1) Open your favorite registry editor and navigate to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\ABOUTURLS]
2) Change the value of "home_0409" to the web page of your choice. For example:
"home_0409"="http://www.google.com/pda"
3) Close the reg editor, wait 1 minute, then soft reset.
4) Open IE and see what happens.

Thanks Brightedge, that worked. I'm still puzzled as to why I had to do that though.
