you could try SPB Backup or SPB Clone as I think they will do what you are looking for.

I think they only copy system, setup files and registry files. I looking to read and save the rom much the same way as its written. The intent is to have a backup image that I can return to after a 'bad' load.

Londo,
Someone just posted on this today, but I can't find it (argh!). Here's the link I had open on another tab - outlining a method to backup your entire phone image onto your storage card and then restore it from the card. It surprised me since I didn't know this was possible - always thought the easiest solution was to reflash from a base rom or kitchen. http://www.geekzone.co.nz/inane/1119

Short answer: you can't
Longer answer: you can't because there is a difference between your rom and the stuff you have installed. The apps you have installed are not in the rom and therefore, not dumpable. Your best bet would be to do a backup and go from there.

But on the brighter side of things, after I got everything how I wanted it, I installed Clone and made an .exe image to my card so hopefully I will never have to go through this again. |

Thanks for the help everybody. I'll try these options and see how they work. I'm guessing that the simplest solution would be to keep notes on which image is loaded then do a 'clone' backup after the customization. I'll give it a shot both ways and see which method works best.
Thanks |
