Unhappy Sprint replacement/insurance question...

I need some "real" help the Sprint store and customer service were no help whatsoever. Anyway I have a PPC-6700 which started crashing, dropping calls, this that and the other. I went to my Sprint store and they basically blew me off, then I called customer service and they told me the same thing. I have to drive 50 miles (I know it's not much but gas prices are crazy) to get to a Store that has a "Tech" I pay $7 for Total Equipment Protection. Is there anything I can do short of having to go through Asurion??? Someone please help I seriously need my phone to work right now.

Electronic issues are supposed to be remedied at the store.
Physical damage or loss is handled through Assurion. If your phone were to be physically damaged they would charge you $50 and send you a replacement.

I did actually do a hard reset. And instead of just being a numbskull and restoring my backup I just put back in the contacts that I absolutely needed. Unfortunately still no help. Thanks though I am still a little too hardheaded to drive to the closest store with a tech so probably just pay the friggin $50 Grrr
