ALMOST THERE: Alltel 6700 converted to Sprint 6700

Ok, I spent the day reading the forums, and got my Alltel PPC 6700 to match the same ESN, Checksum, ROM, Radio and Bootloader as my Sprint PPC 6700.

Now I'm in the programming of the carrier specific information.
I matched EVERYTHING, however, on my Sprint 6700, I can not read in the "HDR AN AUTH Password", it comes up in a way that looks encrypted... "ð`Ñ׫f‹QVÅ…² " (without the quotes)

I assume this is the password the phone sends out to log in to the Sprint system, which would explain why I'm not connecting to the network (yes, I only have one phone on at a time).

Can anyone explain what this is...? How to read it...?

The WHOLE point of this operation is to replace the Sprint 6700 that I use (all beat up), with the Alltel 6700 I don't use (in great condition).

I didn't want to purchase another Sprint 6700, and I already had the Alltel 6700 laying around, so it seemed like a possibility - but now I'm stuck, and looking to all you smart folks on here in the PPCGeeks forums.

Have you got the phone part to work and not the internet? ...or does none of it work yet?

I got the phone to work, just finishing up the evdo data - I will post how-to when finished.

As both phones are 6700s, the easiest way I see is to just move the whole nv filesystem over. Have you tried that?

FWIW, I'd be inclined to say move the guts (main circuit board - or boards) from the beat up Sprint case into the good Alltel case....

Use the qpst prog to copy the contents of the nvm\nvm
folder from the sprint phone to the alltel. Be careful
of the directory tree you do not want the right stuff
in the wrong folder.
