vx6700 seems a little slow..

i've been using the 6700 for a couple of months now and i've been trying to get it as fast as possible.
overclocking(598mhz cpu, 299 mhz bus, 150 mhz ram, 75 mhz screen)
gdicache(65535)
pagepool(12mb)
latest roms (3.50.00 rom, extrom 2.07.206 wwe
wm6(helmi's)
I havn't tried the fatfs/storage tweak

but it just seems so slow still compared to any other phone right now like
the 6800
samsung i760

i watch them switch between landscape and portrait in envy
also scrolling through the programs menu thing, the huge white spaces asdgrjiopewfoijwefo

now those phones do have different kind of processors but what really makes them faster?
6800 - qualcomm 400 mhz dual core thing but only 1 core is used for the os part(i think) also has ati graphics
samsung i760 - benchmarks are worse than mine but still is faster?, Except for file system bench thats about 60 points higher ~180 vs ~120(6700)

the only huge impact i gotten on speed was from overclocking and maybe gdi cache(i havn't expiremented & recorded speeds with this)
so with 65535 gdi cache
(to switch on today screen with htc home and just devicelock)
104mhz cpu, 52 mhz bus, 26 mhz ram, 52 mhz screen: ~300ms
416mhz cpu, 208 mhz bus, 104 mhz ram, 104 mhz screen: ~120ms
605mhz cpu, 202 mhz bus, 101 mhz ram, 101 mhz screen: ~100ms
598mhz cpu, 299 mhz bus, 150 mhz ram, 75 mhz screen : ~90ms
so theoretically if i could get the xscale to run at 1.2 ghz then it should be around ~40 ms

I'm sure you'll get a flood of comments on this, but you might mention if you are using the stock ROM on your device or not. If so, your best solution is to reflash your device to an updated newer ROM. You'll notice much improved performance on a better OS, which is the biggest difference between the stock 6700 and the other devices you mention. Most of the carrier's stock ROMs are pretty bad on the 6700.

Try the newest 3.5 kitchen and build a ROM. With no overclocking/page pool adjusting/very minor cache adjustments it just can't be matched for speed and stability. Only thing you lack is the "pretty" parts of WM6.

I'm not sure but i don't think i am using the stock rom as at one point i downloaded and flashed my phone with wm5 3.5aku. now i am running helmi's wm6 and i've been thinking about switching to the no junk version of wm6. is it noticeably "faster" than helmi's wm6? i can't find any clear answers
not sure with all the terminology yet what is extrom vs rom?
is wm5 really that much faster?
i don't think i had a speed difference between wm5 and wm6 they seemed about the same slowness to me even after all the tweaks

but what other differences are there?
i like that default explorer in wm6 but i think thats a custom explorer
the themes are nice but i don't need them, can't wm5 also use them too?

Ext. rom is the part of the rom that contains the carriers customizations (approx 10mb). Most don't use the carrier cust. (i use nothing because verizons aren't needed) and fill the ext. rom with programs instead of their main memory.

Like i said, i've tried every version of WM6, all the different releases, and none of them are close to a cooked rom from the "official" WM5 kitchen. I don't use ANY today plugins at all and run a fairly vanilla rom so maybe i notice a little more because i shouldn't have anything slowing mine down.

You want to OC either at 520 or 624, nothing in between or your screen will hum, squiel or buzz, Try finding an app call Pocket Hack Master. It is what I used when I had my 6700 and I totally loved it.
