Glad to see that. I only made that comment based on Naigaman's and Luv2chill's posts about bootloaders changing around the partition sizes - so I guess the extended rom partition size wasn't changed at all in the recent bootloaders.

2 questions, is there a difference between having a blank extrom and carrier customizations included in the rom image or having the customizations in the extrom. is one method better than the other?

also in the new vg kitchen and the other new kitchen, the carrier customizations ARE included into the rom right? or do the kitchens include a extrom flash for the carriers

With the kitchens the necessary settings for your carrier are baked into the rom itself--the extrom partition is not used.

Can't install programs into Ext Rom

Although I can see my extrom folder, whenever I try to install a .cab program into there, the install is unsuccessfull. The folder does have a Program Files folder in it but just not any programs I try to install.

Any fixes?

Thx.

so i can use the blank extrom and the kitchen then use the customization built into the rom. is there any advantage to have it built into the rom instead of using the extrom

Tcpmp .72rc1

I've installed TCPMP into the ext ROM and seems to run fine, gonna try install other stuff that runs fine when installed to Storage Card...I'm just wondering though if there will be any future problems with installing a CAB into ext ROM? Thank You

dalsik,
You need to unlock and unhide the extrom for the installs to stick through a reset. Don't forget the unlocker in the kitchen.

crwinger - the advantage to that approach is having 9.9MB of quick-waking flash memory to install apps and caches. The disadvantage is that your email program will be unable to save attachments to the mini-SD card.

Snager - I've been doing this for a few months with no problems.
