Burning friend's XV6700 w/ AKU3.5.04, stuck on helicopter screen

I'm burning the AKU3.5.04 Kitchen image onto my friend's XV6700 phone, and the phone is stuck on the PPC Geeks Apache Helicopter screen.

I have burned this exact image onto my VX6700 many times without any problems.

The only obvious differences between our two phones is: I'm running Bootloader 1.02 and Radio 1.41, his phone has Bootloader 1.00 and Radio 1.10.

Does anybody know what's going on? Or, how can I fix it?

Thanks!

OK - I reflashed back to AKU2.2, and uploaded Radio 1.41. The phone booted OK.

I reflashed my AKU3.5.04 image and it still won't get past the helicopter screen. Is there a way for me to easily upgrade the Bootloader to 1.02 (or another working version)?

Yes, sir! I have burned the AKU 3.5 Kitchen numerous times now, and I haven't had a problem until I tried it on my friend's phone. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that he has BootLoader 1.00, while I have Bootloader 1.02. I figure my next step is to upgrade his Bootloader, but I haven't found a way to do that yet.

Yeah, it's also called "burning" by us old hardware dudes, from when we had stick the chips in the PROM burners. Old habits die hard, I guess.

Anyways, I'm really confused now. I just updated my friend's phone to the official Verizon AKU 3.3 release. The phone came up fine.

This brought his bootloader version up to 1.04. Then, I tried flashing his phone to the AKU 3.5 Kitchen, and his phone locked up again.

Sigh.

You should try flashing his phone with the "NoID_RUU" that's in the kitchen.
Put the phone into boot loader and that should work.
There's really no need to update the boot loader.

Well, I got my friend's phone working, though I don't know exactly why. I re-downloaded the AKU3.5 Kitchen, and rebuild from there. It worked OK after that.

I'm not sure what was messed up in my old setup, since I had used it to burn my own phone 4 or 5 times now.

Thanks for getting back to me on this, guys!
