Having the hardest time finding some settings

On the old stock firmware I was able to set how frequently the phone should connect to the server to see if I have any new e-mails. I recently updated to the 3.3 rom and can't seem to find it. Also it seems odd but my phone always used to automatically download the actual e-mails and leave it up to me to pick-up the attachments manually. Now on almost all e-mails it cuts off before finishing up picking up the full e-mail and makes me click to accept the extra 500 bytes or whatever the small number is. Does anyone know where I can set the max allowed size for e-mails to something higher or disable the feature (and still hopefully keep the attachments on a click basis).
