White Fuzzy Screen on PPC-6700

Here's the issue: My battery died Sunday Night. When I plugged it in my screen was white and full of horizontal/vertical lines (depending on the which way I used it). If I slide the keyboard in and out, i can see some of the screen. The screen responds to touch from the stylus, but the contrast comes and goes and get's fuzzy at a moment's notice. My Question: Is it an LCD issue? Could it be related to a dead battery? I've tried a soft and hard reset, with no fix. Any ideas?

Just a stab in the dark here, but when you pull out the keyboard, and press down or push up on the edge of the lcd/front of the phone does this correct the issue for a short time? (Reason why I ask is that I just worked on a phone having similar issues as you're having and the lcd cable was loose.)

Cool

What you're describing is exactly my problem. Nice stab in the dark!

Is there an easy way to fix the LCD cable without shipping it off to Sprint for repair?

Well honestly if you're under warranty or have insurance, I HIGHLY advise taking it in and letting it be Sprint's problem. If not, you have to tear apart your phone just to get to the lcd and fix it that way.

If you do go the tearing the phone apart route, there's a good guide located here for that.

Hope that can be of some use to you.

Have a 6700 also that on powers up has a white screen, then i get two strong vertical lines in the middle, then in several seconds start gettting a screen full of vertical colored lines, that gradually lighten to a soft green blue huge with nothing showing. phone can be put in bootloader and ive installed a rom without no problems. Is it the lcd? the touch pad has a nick in the mylar. Have taken the phone apart and checked the ribbon connectors they seemed fine and by pressing i cant get the display to change as suggested.
