I thought maybe that caused it but the phone froze again later after I installed some stuff.

Anyone else noticing this? It also seems like it takes a split second to react to the button presses sometimes.
If the task manager isn't playing nicely with the apps it's hooking, disable it.

That's a great solution.

Just to chime in: I find Dev4 most certainly sluggish, slow to respond to button-presses, and freezes up on me alot. (And the only software I have installed on it is RSA SecurID Soft-Token).

When I get a chance, I plan on ditching HTC HOME, which I think is the culprit, and loading back in SPB Mobile.
Anyone know a graceful way to stop HTC Home from loading? (If I remove it from the TODAY screen, is that like removing a program from STARTUP on a PC, it won't load at all? Or is part of it still in the background somehow?)

let me just say I was using a samsung i730 before I went through 3 replacements and was given an xv6700 for free from verizon and as soon as it came yesterday I installed the WM6 here. The hardest part about the install was getting the thing into boot mode. But once I got into boot mode, everything was flawless. The install was fast! the programming was fast. Everything worked so fast in wm6. I think I soft reset twice and that was because of palm threaded application and the registry tweaks for battery life I performed. You have made me a very happy new xv6700 owner. Big ups to you

I didn't write the task manager app--HTC did. If the person is having problems using it with some applications, they obviously aren't compatible and they have to choose between one or the other. Do you prefer that response?
