The one we use is 49KB while the one in that cab is 13KB. I tested it just now against the stock verizon helmi release. It did allow 911 to be dialed but made options disappear in the dialer like contacts. The registry entries also aren't appropriate for vzw users.

Thanks for your testing and analysis. I'm running it right now on the helmi release and I noticed the contacts disappearance you mention. If you care to cobble together a corrected dialer cab, that would be lovely. If not, no worries. I just got all customizations done and I'll probably wait a bit before another flash and I think your devs are the best thing going for us verizon folks. I can say that the * codes do seem to work on it.

For starters - verizonguy - very nice work getting this out!
On a bug note - not sure why, but I could not get the cascading menu for wisebar lite to work. Just wouldn't use it, even if I changed it from the buttons....

NOTE: IF YOU ARE USING HELMI'S ORIGINAL VERIZON WM6 ROM OR MY DEVEL1 EDITION, YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR ROM ASAP. There is a huge safety issue. The 911 functionality is completely broken in all verizon roms < devel2. If you dial 911, your phone will lock up.

Is this true in any of the other Helmi_C's WM6 roms??

Yeah, you should always use the software reset. When you do anything on your phone like getting a new text message or changing a setting on your phone, it is stored in the memory of the phone for quite a while until it is written to the rom in the flash memory. If you use the physical soft reset by putting the stylus in the hole on the bottom, you lose your recent changes. Using the software reset forces a save first.

Learned something new today... I hated losing my new sms's...

That Rom update by Helmi is a public safety hazard not withstanding the fact that it jacked up a lot of people's handset and during the time they needed their cell phone to work the most (during a 911 call...it locks up the phone). Now you expect folks to stick around and wait for a so called part 2? I dont think so. Boy am I glad that I didn't jump on the band wagon..lol

Man, just support that people are actually trying to help us out by releasing new roms that normally would not be released for our platforms. Every new rom has new issue's, and bug's to work out. There is a fix for everything. I'm sure there will be a release to fix the 911 issue. And yes, it may be a serious issue when you need it, but how often do you really need it?? Just appreciate, and donate. That is the first step to bringing new fixes to the new bug's. I'm sure Helmi_C is aware of this, and is already working on a fix. So just sit back and relax!

Problems Booting up

I just upgraded my rom from devel.1 to devel.2. while rebooting i noticed a plain white screen that lasted a few seconds longer than normal. After that it went to post screen but freezes. It doesen't even get to the splash screen. i tried flashing it back to the original rom, still the same :( . I only found posts for splash screens. Thanks for your time.

Would you consider posting the nk.nbf (maybe on the ftp?) so that we could easily alter it with a Sprint ms_.nbf?
I'm getting DSODs at least once a day right now and am in need of trying something different.

OK. Ignore that. I just realized that you aren't using the ms_.nbf and I'd have to take out all the Verizon stuff and put the Sprint stuff back in.
I guess I'll just have to wait for the Kitchen.

Hi verizonguy, Thanks for your ROM, I flashed the rom published at 2007.09.19. It is stable and quickly. But the IR beam still do not work with computer, can not transfer files between them.

Ah.. I've noticed that happen before. Makes a lot of sense! Thanks.
