AFAIK, once you hide it, you cannot access anything on it (as you discovered with Resco.) If you install a program to it and then hide it, I don't think you'll have any luck running the program.

Actually, I hid it and the programs that are installed there are still working.

Yep, now I only open it back up if I need to install or upgrade something in there. Perfect!
