I set up wireless sync with verizon to get mail from my company's exchange server. If i click the outlook icon below that is initially one of the 5 ugly icons on your today screen, i get the proper outlook window. If i just click that one, it takes me to create new email, sms, or text msg. I would like it to take me to my company email, as it even displays how many work emails i have in the text number next to the icon.

For those of you who use wireless sync and wish to have this button: ![]() Simply take you to your email, after you've set up your wireless sync, go to the mail window. If you can't get there, open text message, click the dropdown, and go to "Outlook Email". Once there, go to Menu >> Tools >> Options. In options on the first page, there's a check box at the bottom that says "Display account picker when opening messaging", simply uncheck it, and you will be taken directly into your email when you click the button circled in red above. |

anyone know how to change the message format
No problem installing the V0 rom on Verizon.
However, I'm connected to an Exchange 2007 server via Active Sync. I'm not getting HTML interpretation of my mail. If I go into Tools->Options, click on "Outlook E-mail", check server address & click next, check server settings & click next, tab down to E-mail and click on settings, there is a pull-down option called "Message Format." This option is greyed out and only "Plain Text" is shown. Anybody know why I can't select a different option ("HTML" -- I guess)-- or how to get that from not being greyed out by editing the registry?? Thanks.

Helmi_c and everyone who has been plugging away at this stuff for a very long time now: *wonderful work*. I've been off the board for awhile but this is an incredible development for the Apache and revitalizes the device and the user community in a most substantial way. Verizon has left us without a decent upgrade path from the 6700 for far too long, and it is amazing to have a community that can transcend Verizon's corporate lethargy, taking matters into their own hands to provide upgrades where traditionally there would be none. That said, I wonder if Helmi_c or one of the other wizards here can develop a software patch that makes the Apache just a little thinner in the pocket. |

Wireless sync
Thanks to Helmi. I have read all 50 pages and see that people are having no problem with wireless sync on Verizon. Can you please tell me how to get it set up? I have not allowed the customizations to run. The only way I have been able to access my e-mail is through my pop server, not through VZW. The problem with this is I leave all messages on my server so I have over 4500 messages on my personal address and the same amount on my business address. Also, I had to set up accounts for both individually, vs VZW that pulls both of my addresses in one. I would appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanks

awesome work Helmi. this is very impressive, just to note though I do not see my 2GB miniSD card any longer. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about solving this?
Awesome job once again....you've made my year... (dont laugh) |

My opinion being in IT is that the VZW wireless sync from Verizon just plain sucks! Many of my customers have used it. Unfortunately it produced too many errors that you just dont have any control over. I have moved everyone including myself to Exchange. If you dont have a server then use a hosted exchange service for $6/mo. It's well worth it. You also get the benefits with multiple computers using outlook. No matter what everything is synced! No questions asked. It just plain works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try this link. I think there is a 90 day trial. http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=13687316 wireless sync from Verizon sucks! Exchange or hosted exchange works perfectly!
