I did run the GLRestore, but after having it sit there for 45 minutes "downloading services" I was convinced that it wasn't ever going to happen. I'm HOPING that when GoodLink 5 comes out, maybe this will be resolved and I can then go up to WM6. Of course, I'm also assuming that my corporation would need to support GL5, which I don't know when that'll happen.

Feedback on what you find would be MUCH appreciated, as I'm itching to get to the new release, but don't want to annoy my helpdesk with requests for new GoodLink PINs.

Thanks!

Fortunately I know a specific person I can call to help. If I went thru our helpdesk, I'd probably have as much a problem as you... they're pretty useless.

For me, this is a short-term issue anyway as they are about to shut down our GoodLink server and switch us to ActiveSync Push. But that's not supposed to happen for another month or so. In the meantime, I want my email back...

I'll update once I get word from IT about setting up a new GL PIN.

Thanks! I got as much from my HelpDesk as I thought I neede, which was the new PIN. They didn't even blink when I asked. The harder problem is that I happen to work for a certain antivirus company that wants to make sure that their antivirus packages are protecting all the handhelds, and there's no WM6 bits available yet. If I get desperate, I can call some of the guys I know in the GoodLink group and see if there's anything they can do to give me an exception, but I'm betting that'll be much hard work and persuasion to get done. I'm hoping for good news from you. Please let me know what version of GoodLink ends up getting installed as well when you (hopefully!) get to that point.

It sure seems like Goodlink is the Achilles heel of all of the ROM upgrades.

Very impressive, Helmi. You are a giant among...well you know, great work! I have been playing with it all day, no serious problems (sprint rom, will post issues in the bugs thread). Looking forward to the C&S roms/kitchens.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to know if anyone has any idea why my text response time is so terrible. the only program I have running now is photocontacts. When I soft reset the phone, it's better for about 10 mins and it starts lagging terribly. The characters don't appear on the screen when I punch them in and it sometimes skips them altogether.

Any ideas?

I have noticed the same thing on my phone with the text messages lagging pretty bad...

After almost a week of having this installed, the biggest difference I notice? BATTERY LIFE. I have had my phone sitting around the house since I got home from work Friday evening. I have NOT put it on the charger all weekend until last night. It lasted the whole friggin' weekend! That's outstanding in my book.

After you get your MSL from sprint you need to enter on the phone pad:
##775# then enter the MSL
Then go down to Modem Settings
Selected 0.

We'll see how this works.

Man, they really didn't want to give me the MSL. Hell, I have been with sprint since 1997 ....Like I am going anywhere? Maybe Apple will wake up and get that new Ipod Touch -WIMAX friendly with Sprint. (VOIP) with 16gb of Flash. Now that would be a kick ass PDA Smartphone.

Code is 778. 775 updates your PRL.

Had my first DSOD. Two of them. Yesterday. :(

No software added over the weekend.

Only changes were to some settings in phoneAlarm and added a few ringtones.

Hi cab3,

WoooWhooo... I now have GL working on WM6 again.

I had them issue a new PIN, but since I was now on a replacement XV6700, that didn't work (said I was already setup on another handheld). So I then had them delete and recreate my account with another new PIN issued. That worked.
- Using PIE, I went to get.good.com. It took me to a link for "OTA Setup for Pocket PC 6.0". Don't know if this affects the end version of GL it installed.
- Downloaded/installed OTASetup which automatically runs.
- Entered my email and new PIN.
- It downloaded/installed the GL app and got to the status screen we saw before where it would hang while downloading services. The detail message said "Connecting" for all services.
- After about 4-5 minutes, it connected the services and finished the installation/setup.

According to the About screen, I am running :Good Mobile Messaging v4.9.3.21_EN

re: your AV stuff... that's a pain. If your folks are like ours, they're pretty strict about policy settings on the devices. Hopefully you can get an exception until they have AV bits available. The new ROM is great (especially with the iPhone-like contact manager and keyboard from PocketCM).
