Helmi's remarkable work on getting WM6 onto the 6700? PRICELESS! Expect donation soon. BTW, my original 6700 was laid to rest because of the sync port. Could no longer charge battery. Fighting with Sprint store to get a damn near perfect 6700. May just give in and take the cleanest 6700 so I can run WM6.

You probably should, yes. I added my blank ExtROM to Helmi's Sprint installer and my phone is working just fine.

BTW, I'm fully prepared for some crow casserole, Luv2chill. This ROM provides enough benefits over my own variant of Hemi's AKU 3.5 kitchen to make me switch. I'll install my programs to the ExtROM for now, but I can't wait to see what we can do with a WM6 kitchen.

I found this site today and got so excited. The thought of upgrading my XV6700 was a dream I thought and now it's a reality.

But now that I have the upgrade how do I get it on my phone? I never encountered a rar file before. Where do I find the software to be able to extract the files? And once I get them extracted is there a readme file with instructions on how to do the update? Any and all assistance will be highly appreciated.

Go to www.rarlabs.com and download a copy of WinRar. Its in archiving/un-archiving utility like WinZIP. WinRar does a lot of different types of files including rar, zip, arj, etc.
