Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20924 kitchen

I tried to build a ROM image this weekend and couldn't as it's having a problem building the registry hive. I found out that the problem is in the version of Arcsoft that I want to build in (4.2.8.1). I haven't had any issues building the OEM package into any other previous version of the ROM, so I don't know why it just started having a problem on this one. What changed between 20755 and 20924 that would have caused this? I also tried building my previous 20755 selections and it stops at the same place with the same error, and prior to the last update, everything built fine.

Regardless, removing the the patches folder in apache core is a complete waste of time and 100% unnecessary. I'll wager your solution accomplished exactly nothing - you can verify this rather easily by seeing which version of the patch files is in an untouched 20924 build. If it's the patch version, as it should be, your fix did nothing. If it isn't, you'll have a lot more issues than a patch dir can address.

I had observed that the files looked the same and don't know why it worked when patching it later method.
I agree the files should have done no difference and there is something else going on that did not agree with me building normally.
I believe my Vista does not respond to the kitchen as it should since I should not be having these problems.
It does not let my Apache with bootloader 2.02 to load rom. 1.01 was able.

I also noted that using the static option in the pagepool also gives me some slowdown so I set to default.
also I cannot build with "GB-SOFT Tweak (Auto Disconnect Data Connection)" OEM as it will now give me slowdowns.

But other than that, I like this Build and it gives me more program mem.

Hello all, I am new here and I am wondering how to use this kitchen? can someone explain it to me? Please feel free to e-mail me e1something@yahoo.com thank you so much.

I am amazed of what you can do with Touch Pro.

Also, If I wanted to design a theme, Where do I start?

thanks again and again.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20924 kitchen

I found what was causing the registry compile errors. The OEM "HTC Home (Select an Icon Set)" is causing the problem. Its GUID is cc2e9802-d601-4811-a479-2ef64d7eba62

EDIT: I extracted the OEM package from the PPCKitchen_OEM.rar archive, and it looks like there isn't anything in the .dsm file. I rebuilt the dsm, tried compiling my rom and it worked. Seems like someone did something to the package as it's working fine for me now after the change.

i have found other things like solitaire / bubble breaker generates 4 line items when you select it in the kitchen. one note creates 2. each of the line items has unique GUIDs... so I have no idea what the heck that is doing. I have found that creating your selections, saving, exiting, manually editing (to remove duplicates) and then relaunching, and NOT touching the pagepool will give you a decent build. Although forget using SPB mobile shell with 20924. If you want to use it, 20755 will be necessary.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20924 kitchen

I deleted the OEM I had trouble with (GB-Soft) and inserted same OEM into the rar from an older PPCkitchen rar, and now the OEM builds fine.

I also noted if I try to use pagepool I will get slowdowns so I dont touch it, but I set it to "9" in the Apache_WM6.1_20924_96DPI_0409.txt file, so default for me is 9 :)
Mayby I should not have said that. ..
Dont do it unless you are brave. I dont want pplz to screw up their txt files and blame me.

Yep. I think this is the ONLY way someone will be able to successfully set pagepool. My guess is that when you do it in the UI, there becomes a double entry and it messes everything up. So I am betting it is a BUILDOS bug. Along with the duplicate entries for packages selected, I guess that's two bugs.

Looks like Build 20931 has just been posted, although Updater isn't downloading it yet...

that makes no sense...please elaborate. Which bootloader do you actually have on your phone?

There shouldn't be any issue with that...are you sure it isn't something else causing your symptom?
