"xxx is not a valid Pocket PC application." error

Installed the latest 6.1 ROM on here. I now get the "xxx is not a valid Pocket PC application." error with certain, but not all applications. I have noticed this with Dashwire and Mobile Calculator. Others like AIM, IE, some games run fine. Also, the programs I'm having problems with, when I go to Programs and click their icon, I get that error. When I click the icon from the Start Menu, nothing at all happen. Any help would be appreciated as I can't find any info about this anywhere.

Thanks!!!

Re: "xxx is not a valid Pocket PC application." error

Heres an update on this. I just flashed another rom using helmi's build. Now when I try to run any of the offending apps the first time, I get the not a valid PPC application error. When I try to run them a second time, nothing at all happens. They don't run and I dont' get an error. I've noticed this with Mobile Calculator, the You Tube player that is in the Kitchen and Dashwire. I know thats not many apps, but I'm trying to get this figured out before I do a lot of customizing. If anyone knows what these have in common or what 'helper' app they need to run, please let me know.

Am I the only one having this problem though? I've searched many places and can't find much info. I've posted on here in other places and get no response. 40 views here and nothing. I've tried to get chat to work and I keep getting an error there. I'm ready to raise my white flag and yell HELP!!!

Sorry if I sound a bit irritated. I realize I'm a noob here and I don't mean to sound like an a$$. But this has been going on for a week, and I'm not getting anywhere.

As always, any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Re: "xxx is not a valid Pocket PC application." error

So, I got this resolved, but not the way I wanted to. Installed robmayer's 6.0 rom found elsewhere on this site and that did the trick. Don't know what happened, but it was either something related to the kitchen or to 6.1. I'll play with this more when I get a chance, but I'm going to leave it as is for now, as I'm just happy to have my PPC back working the way I like it.

We've had a couple users experience this with Dashwire after having installed the 6.1 upgrade. It's definitely related to that. Glad to hear you found a fix (although it wasn't the one you were looking for).

Are you using the latest Dashwire Mobile client (http://m.dashwire.com)? Are you running WinMo 6.1 and want to try our latest release (http://m.dashwire.com/beta)?
