I guess this is as good of a place as any to post my question. When I installed BuildOS, it says to run the updater on the first run. I use XP 64 bit, so the updater won't work. Following the instructions, I do a manual update, and download the files(PPCGeeks_OEM, 000_Shareware, Apache_Helmi_WM6.1). Unfortunately, no where(that I can find at least) does it say where to place these files. My best guess was to extract PPCGeeks_OEM and 000_Shareware into USER_OEM(which seems to work alright) and I placed Apache_Helmi_WM6.1 into the Kitchen folder. Everything seems fine when running the program and making my selections, however, when I go to build, after the donations window it gives me the error "ROM folder does not exists. ROM\XIP\". Of which, the only information on the error would suggest that I am using a selection.txt from an older buildOS, which I am not. And as always, much appreciation for any help rendered.

Nope. The easiest method is to delete everything you've done, put the selections.txts in the projects folder, and put everything else (.rars and readme.txts) in the kitchens folder. No need to extract anything (without further modifications, it won't work if you do extract).

Thanks! Did the trick.

So, if I understand this correctly in order to upgrade your ROM on the Apache you must actually create (cook) your own, correct? It seems as though other devices (like the Vogue) have pre-made ROM's that have been cooked by others that you can just install... But that's not the case here? Please straighten me out if I'm not understanding this.. thnx!

That's pretty much true. Premade roms really aren't satisfying once a good kitchen is available. A long time ago, kitchens were fairly daunting - they've come a long way in the friendliness department.

I've successfully used the BuildOS to create and flash my own ROM but where is this new ROM that I created stored? What folder is it in? How can I get to it and reuse it like the older style pre-cooked ROMs floating around with the .nbf file type? I may not always be able to use BuildOS every time and I would like to save my stable ROM creations.

I'm sure this is obvious but I've read many threads and I must be missing something. Thanks.

Also, if you find a setup that you like, you can click the save button, next to the play button and it will save that for you. Next time, you just open and you are all ready to cook, or modify. One thing I would suggest, is to rename it by going to file>Save.. then, rename it to something you'll understand.

I just flashed my phone to 6.1 using the instructions provided. Obviously things are different, but I have a problem with texts. It says that my account is locked and that company policy prohibits messaging on this device. Did I mess something up?

I think I know what I did wrong, nevermind.

I tried to recover my contacts and appointments using my old backup file from 6.0 and it messed everything up. I hard reset and used PIM backup to get everything back.

This was my first flash and right now it seems a bit laggy, so I think I will go back and fix a few things to get it right. I miss my HTC Home more then anything else so far. I need the big clock and the little bar that shows missed calls, MMS, and SMS.

Yesterday i downgraded my boot loader from 2.05 to 2.02 in the hopes of being able to have more space for my rom. After downgrading the size still seems relatively small. i can't get what i want into the rom and have it fit on my apache. Can someone post the max size that can be used and the requirement to be able to flash that size rom. a few saved presets with a good app set and maxed rom size for BuildOS would be helpful. Thanks SOO much for all the work here keep it up guys.
