\USER_OEM where you put any personal OEMs you wish to add to the kitchen (for experienced users).
\Kitchens Where the kitchens are installed to.
\Projects Where the various selections.txt files are located.
BuildOS_Config.txt Don't mess with it unless you know what you're doing.

I've sadly been checking the site daily for the last two weeks. Promised myself I'd donate to you guys the day this comes out. I'm been using the 6.0 kitchen for months now and loving it. I very much appreciate the hard work that went into this. I finally played with a 6800 the other day and it just didn't feel right in my hand, the keyboard felt to small and not as solid. Now I don't have to stop using my apache until something really feels like an upgrade. Thanks again!

Re: Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

will you all be working out the kinks with the excessive battery drainage between the registry editing, htc home plug and weatherpanel. the reason why I ask is that I STILL have excessive battery drainage even with the parm registry edits. during calls my battery STILL drains and I've been to the bugs thread but nobody has bothered to help me with not even a reply or a suggestion. Please forgive me and don't blast me but this one of my major concerns with the other being trying to get arcsoft 4.2.8.1 to work. I got the run-around somewhat so I rebuilt my rom and went back to 3.0.2. Sorry again and great work to all of you guys. I couldn't begin to thank you enough, but rest assured, a donation is on the way soon...

P.s. Oh, by the way, is there anyway possible that the spb mobile shell 2.0 will be included in the kitchen or buildOS?

You set your own username and password. It does not and should not be what you use here (at least the password). Just use your nick if you want and a password you will remmeber.

I have a problem. When I tell it to build it runs thru the scanning phase and at the first phase of extracting I get the error:

Kitchens|Apache_Helmi_WM6.1.rar file create error

any suggestions what to do? I tried a re-start, and update. Same thing.

Thanks,
Jack

Re: Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Greetings all: I am running w2k sp4. The buildOS.msi will not install, it generates an error message stating MDAC 2.7 is needed. Found it on MS, however it pauses halfway thru the install and rolls back to the original, effectively cancelling the install. Have tried the fixes here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309166

I have MDAC 2.8, its 5724 kB. The fix in the kb references modifying the Windows Installer package (.msi) file by using the Orca database editor. Add a custom action, and then run the custom action from your Windows Installer package. This workaround prevents the call to the Secedit.exe file. Additionally, modify the Windows Installer package so that the package will modify the permissions for the BidInterface subkey in the registry.

This is a real PITA. Im going to fire up my XP laptop. If I get more time, I'll post the results of modding the MDAC_typ for w2k. But as Guru stated, probably not worth it.

BTW, I use my XP laptop for flashing, maybe the msi will install better on XP?

windows 2000 is a bad choice. BuildOS should run on it, but the experience will be miserable as compared to XP or Vista. I strongly urge you to find an XP or Vista computer.

That's a new one for me. What OS? Do you have plenty of drive space available (300-400MB at a minimum). Did you install to the default location or to some other location?

Yes, that was removed as it seemed to confuse many people. It isn't always necessary, and causes a retireval error on the 2nd RUU screen. If you find your phone doesn't switch to bootloader mode properly on it's own during the update, you can do it by hand and restart the RUU.

The username/password is used to determine what downloads are available for you and grants access to development builds for beta-testers and developers.

Sounds self explanatory. The rom only holds so much, and you tried to put too much in. Take some stuff out.

The roms will always be the same size on the Apache. If you have a 2.04/2.05 bootloader, you won't be able to include much.
