You are likely running out of memory or pagepool. If your memory is below about 5 MB, you're trying to do to much at once. Otherwise, try increasing your pagepool a couple of megabytes.

OK. First thanks so much for putting this ROM out. It really rocks.

I do have a few problems though:

1) Memory usage. After a day or so my free memory creeps down to 5MB or below. I can close all open running programs, and it only frees up to around 10-13MB. If I do a soft reset it jumps back up to around 25MB.

2)Bluetooth. 2 issues: First it seems to have crackles and pops that I don't remember being there in Helmi's last WM5 build. Second it has a nasty habit of disconnecting in the middle of a call for no rhyme or reason, and not coming back on until I toggle BT on and off.

3) It won't go into standby on it's own. The backlight will kick off, but no standby.

Any ideas?

1) that's not necessarily a problem. It's possible that it's a symptom of the applications you are running.

2) I haven't experienced random disconnections, but I don't use BT that often either.

3) How do you know it's not in standby?

What's wrong with Weatherpanel? Mine works fine.

I can't help you on #1 or #2, but #3 ...

Are you using ver. 2.51? I think it's the latest version.

It causes the lock up problem with me. I use ver 2.50; never have a lockup problem.

1) Multitasking - Seems much more sluggish with WM6 than with WM5. I use my phone as an mp3 player and for GPS navigation so when I'm in the car, I always have TCPMP v72rc1 running with a map application (either googlemaps, ms livesearch, or iGuidance). WM5 had no problem switching back and forth smoothly between apps, however with WM6, I frequently experience unexpected app shutdowns (either TCPMP or GPS app or both, with no predictable pattern) OR a total system freeze requiring a soft reset.

2) Screen Alignment - I am one of those unlucky users that has to align my screen once every other day or so. With the latest kitchen, my phone freezes as soon as the alignment screen comes up. The crosshairs remain in the center of the screen no matter where I tap. A soft reset is the only way to bring the phone out of the alignment screen.

3) Weatherpanel - I know, I know... this is a known issue, but it worked without a problem under wm5. I guess I'm just hoping that someone will find a way around the green screen lockup issues that the application causes under wm6 and post it here.

These could totally be limited to my usage pattern or my hardware (as most of my issues seem to be), but I wanted to throw these out there to see if any broader issues could be identified.

Thanks to all for all of your hard work on making this phone so great.

Thanks for the reply.

For #1. Which applications would cause this? I thought it was Slide2Unlock, so I didn't put it in the current ROM. That obviously didn't fix it though. I generally run: IE, PocketCM, Outlook, Activesync, and that's about it. I do have HTC Home running also.

I know it's not in standby because I can faintly see what is on the screen still, and can touch the screen to bring it back to life. This was another thing that I though Slide2Unlock was causing, but it still persists without S2UL.

Lets start by looking at the easiest thing:

goto settings, system, power.
click the advanced tab and make sure that your "Turn off device if not used for" settings are enabled.

Even if they are, I'd change them to something else and test again. In one of the earlier kitchens I saw that settings aren't actually correctly set to what they say in the control panel until you switch it once.

Oh, and since I haven't said it in awhile because I'm usually a lurker: Thanks to everyone for all the hard work they have put into the kitchen. I really love how it has evolved, despite it taking up an abnormally large portion of my time to get everything "perfect" (at least for a couple weeks before starting over again)

Thanks for the tip. I just tried that, and it still stays in backlight off mode. Any more ideas?

Don't hold the power button in for so long? ...it only takes a quick push/release. If you hold it in long enough, it toggles the backlight on/off.

If you're just doing a quick tap and it's only turning off the backlight, what else did you build into your ROM?
