I installed TouchFlo (but not the cube) with my new ROM last night.
It only seems to work sporadically and with non-Today Screen programs (I can't get it to scroll my calendar on PocketBreeze). I read through this thread (not everything, but skimmed) and didn't see this mentioned. I did put a link to FTouchFlo in my startup menu and that got things a little more consistent. Still nothing on the Today Screen though.

If you have FTouchFlo installed, you can check in \Program Files\Touch Flo (it may be a slightly different path, but it should be obvious)\FTouchFlowConfig.txt
That's just a text file, it has a lot of settings for TouchFlo, including which apps it should not be active for. Check that and see if, perhaps, it is disabled for the app you're not seeing it work for. |

Safety Warning...
As you probably noticed by now, you'll need to move some links out of the \Windows\Startup folder and then soft-reset to safely disable the FTouchFlo app (and regain the ability to align your screen) Once you've got your alignment fixed, you have to put all the links back in, and soft-reset again. I'm thinking a safer way to run is to leave all the cube/tflow links out of the \Windows\Startup folder - just move em somewhere else. When I soft reset, I just run em manually once. That way, if I ever run into some weird need to realign screen, all I need to do is softreset, and I'm good to go. I can probably make a mortscript that sits in the startup folder, and after a minute or two launches the flo and cube stuff... that would make it load automatically, but still give me a couple minutes to align the screen after a soft reset. So far I'm not resetting all that often, so its no big deal. Oh, and if you are using the cube and ftouchflo, you really don't need to run all those "preload" links in \Windows\Startup - the cube will work fine, just a bit slow the first time you see any "face", if you don't. If you never bring up the cube, you won't lose the half meg or so of ram preloading takes, either. |

half meg of ram? i think the cube took 5 meg of ram n took my ppc from 24 ram after a soft boot down to 19.. dont think thats cute.. ... on the other hand touchflo works flawlessly.. and scrolls without any trouble in all application.. i didnt like the s2u2 along with the touchflo coz i think it interefered with it.. n slowed things down a bit..
i hope the cube with the touchflo which brought down my ram by so much wasnt coz of the double touchflo running like u said... i manualy start touchflo after each reset.. and i think 25 megs of ram is good to run things up properly... and keep it snappy till it goes down till 15 or so after a couple of days and then reset... if its already down to 19 at start the snappyness doesnt last much.. |

||||
Mine will drop from 22-23mb after boot to under 20, with or without the cube... that's normal as the various buffers get loaded up (glyphcach, file system, network, etc)
The S2U2 interaction is easy to fix (see first post) |

Hey guys,
OK i tried the TAP b4 it starts but NG, and, I did not have the Touchflo in the folder, so I would really have to say that for what ever reason the problem is physical as in the touch screen is dead. Thanks for all the help and consideration. I wonder, after I have spent so much time reading this site, it seems that some people install the hacks with perfect results, while others, seeming to do the install exactly the same have unexpected results. I know that the underlineing cause must be either a differance in the orignial confg. of the phones ?, something with the loading PC, or simple user error. I know that I was very carefull to read as much as possible before I installed my kitchen and ROM, and I will try again once I get a new 6700. So much for a wildcard phone from Ebay. Thanks again, be back soon! Mark |

? Problem: I installed the cube, and now my Contacts tab in HTC Home is gone!
* Resolution: Delete the registry key: HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD\QuickDial (then soft reset) Also, only the HTCCube2.cab is needed for a fully functioning cube.
Want to launch the cube + 2 other apps from the today screen? Use my edited version of FTOUCHFloconfig.txt (attached) [my setup launches PocketCM from the today screen when you swip Left->Right or Right<-Left. Edit it to your taste.] ~Syn Last edited by synaptyc; 11-24-2007 at 07:21 PM. |
