Another solution is to use OpenDNS DNS servers for the Sprint connection. I actually had that set up for different reasons in the Sprint ExtROM OEM in previous kitchens... but I reverted it back to use server-assigned DNS addresses in this kitchen to keep things more "stock". I'm trying to figure out a good way to allow one to choose OpenDNS servers as part of the buildos process--have a few ideas but nothing solid yet. In the meantime I have set the Sprint extrom OEM to use the IP address for now. |
Well, I built one without any of my customs and the pages work fine. Thanks for checking guys. I'll do the one at a time thing until I find the prob. Thanks.
|
It was in my OEM for my reg settings. This was the problem:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] |
I think you've got less free memory in WM6... even in WM5 30 request threads would give me problems. Are those set at all in the kitchen? I don't think they are - they weren't in the first rev anyway.

Question: When my Bluetooth is on and my phone rings, the ringer only plays on the headset, rather than the actual handset. How can I fix this?
|
Does the phone screen come up for you guys with this build when you select certain settings or close various windows? Is there a fix for this? I can live with it but it's annoying sometimes.
Edit: FYI I installed the Vogue Dialer |

Time Zone 5 hours off
After I load my rom, do a hard reset, come up to the Calibration page. I select US Eastern (gmt-5). The time on the clock is correct. However, if I create any files or folders they are timestamped at GMT. I also have an app that just logs an entry to a file with the current time, it also shows GMT. I am not doing any time zone settings in the oemizer.

Messaging....won't load.
I've been using the latest version since it's release.
Love it except for one issue: The only issue I've hit so far is that while everything else on the phone works... at times (intermittently) "Messaging" won't open. (either from the HTC home shortcut, from Start menu, or even from hitting the icon in explorer). Weird. A soft-reset makes it work again. Add that to the glitch list. Other than that.... this version rocks for me. Gervy |
For some reason I am getting 0x85010014 during calendar sync with Exchange. The tasks and emails seem to sync fine. Otherwise rest all is zippier
|
Two minor issues for me.
1. Like others, I'm having issues with the Vogue dialer. I'm often not able to close the dialer or phone screen. I am using ILauncher as the task manager and wonder if that's the culprit. I am not installing any of HTC plugins. 2. The bluetooth connections dies fairly often for no apparant reason. I'm not installing any bluetooth drivers as I only use a bluetooth earpiece and don't use A2DP. Any ideas on this? I LOVE this ROM and can't believe the vast amount of work luv2chill, Helmi, Tiermann, and many others have put into making and supporting it. Thank you! |
Big problem! What do I do now?
Built rom, uploaded it just fine. phone ran very slow and some of the apps were not viewable. Phone locked up several times. Had to reboot. Did a couple of hard resets, and now I get the white screen just before screen config. Can't go any where. I had tried to build and load a new rom, but it could not find the phone. Could not get active sync to work either. How do I fix this? BTW, I am a novice so please be specific with suggestions if you have any. THANKS |
Update. I got past the white screen. Still cannot connect to PC via usb.

Demogod, I would try to rebuild the ROM with a little less in it. White screens are almost always due to an overloaded ROM.
|
That would be my next move, but first I have to solve my active sync issue.
|
Love2Chill, when you are upgrading the kitchen would it be possible to include the latest version of O2 which is 2.3, I believe.
Thanks for all of your efforts and hard work. |

Yes, there is a "newer" version, but basically it was/is what we have. It has been so long since I messed with O2 that I do not remember everything, but basically they are the same apps. With them seperated in the kitchen, it is probably your best option. However, if you find anything new that the OEMs in the kitchen do not do, please let me know. |

hands free mode will still work for while you are in a phone conversation, but all other sounds will come out of your device. this would be the opposite of what you want if you were wanting to listen to MP3s on your headset. |
anyone found problems with INPUT method? i set Nullkb as the default and disabled keyboard. then each time i push the power button to turn the screen on, an error report would appear saying: notification error:\windows\ndrwakeup.exe cannot be executed! i search the windows folder but i didn't find this .exe file.

Can someone help get active sync working again? Any help is appreciated! Thanks

so, it looks like the trend of semi-regular releases has slowed. i am guessing it is time for a much deserved breather. those guys are incredible! is the battery drain problem something that wont be fixable until a new release? or is there some kind of hotfix for that? thats the next thing i am waiting on.
|
There will be another release today or tomorrow most likely.

Data Connection/Active Sync
With the beta release of WM6 that helmi did I was able to push the end call at any time and it would disconnect the data call. Now that doesn't work.
Also if you terminate a datacall Active Sync reverts both Peak and NonPeak to manual from As Items Arrive. Previously it would leave those settings alone and if during peak time the phone would do another data connection. Anyone else having the problem? |

Apache at a Wedding
Ok folks I finally was able to take my 6700 on a long weekend to Houston Texas this weekend and it performed admirably for the most part. I did come across some issues that I wanted to post here:
1) Bluetooth cuts out when a call is in progress. I noticed that this happened twice to me. I would be in a call and the BT would just disconnect. I would get the beep in the headphone that no BT device could be found, but the call would still be in progress. I would have to turn off the headset option on the phone and I could continue with the call. 2) Phone hangs intermittently. Even so often my phone would just lock itself up. This was particularly evident when I was reading/responding to email. I did have Push Mail option enabled at the time. Another time it hung was in the calendar function. A simple soft reset worked to restore normal operations. 3) Messaging would not allow for the selection of one msg. It seems every so often I would go into the messaging function to answer my email and one email would be highlighted. I would not be able to read the email since it would never bring up the full message. I think thats it for now. As I said I think my phone did well. The battery life was good, except when I wanted to play music from the SD card. When doing that the battery drained quickly. It did last an entire 3.5 hour trip to Houston though. Thanks, Steve |
Apache at a Wedding Pt. 2
One other thing....has anyone been having trouble with car chargers? My cigarette lighter charger that came with the phone was operating previously but it does not seem to charge the phone now. The red light is lit up but I never get a charge. Could this be a kitchen issue? I dont think so but am confused as to why this would not be working.
|
Red light doesnt mean charging, the charging light is orange. Red Indicates power issue or problem, either with the charger or the battery

spetrillo to accurately help you with your bug list you need to post:
1. Your selections.txt saved from buildos so we know what OEMs you built with 2. A list of any cabs/tweaks you added after the ROM was built As for bluetooth stuff, there are so many variables there. First thing would be to try a different headset--also ensure WiFi is OFF (they use the same antenna and conflict with one another). |

Thanks for the assist, Steve |

Are you closing apps or just minimizing them? There is less free memory then WM5 - you could just be running out of free memory... WM still is horrible at freeing memory on its own, which is odd since its designed to do just that.
