PocketPlus itself is a memory hog, IMHO.

Suggestion for kitchen team - whatever tool is generating that "out of memory" error during the build process, suggest you change that to "out of space in ROM image" and then add "YOU HAVE PROBABLY SELECTED TOO MANY OEMS - SELECT FEWER OEMS AND TRY AGAIN" to the message.

Should cut down on posts. I know I eventually guessed that was the reason for the error myself, after checking to make sure my PC wasn't running out of free memory during the build process ;)

One other thing....has anyone been having trouble with car chargers? My cigarette lighter charger that came with the phone was operating previously but it does not seem to charge the phone now. The red light is lit up but I never get a charge. Could this be a kitchen issue? I dont think so but am confused as to why this would not be working.

this has happened to me with both stock roms and kitchens. i found it consistently works if you turn it off and then plug it in. i'm not talking like put into airplane mode, etc. just a normal suspend with the power button and then plug it in.

Thanks, though this is more appropriate for the BuildOS thread.

The fix: install any program that allows you to boot into safemode. (MonoCube Safemode is great). When the phone locks, just boot to safemode, disable HTC on today screen, boot backto normal mode and re-enable HTC plugin.

This typically happens after battery is depleted as well.

Gervy

Is there any free safemode tool?

The two I currently know of SBC Plus and MonoCube Safemode 2 are both commercial software. It seems like MonoCube Safemode is now free, but it's for WM2003

Interesting problem found with Storage

first things first, I've installed the Kitchen and my 6700 has never been this stable. Gone are the phone lock ups when I go to answer and other issues.

I've been using it for a week or so and its been great.

Now, the intersting problem with the storage. When I try and down load a program and install it, my devise can't be found. Seems when I go to load to the storage card memory is when I have the problem. No problem with Sync. and I can explore from my laptop.

So I took a look at settings, memory and what do I see....Bluetooth and Storage Card. Anybody else see that? I think what is happening is that when ever I try to load in to storage it trys loading to Bluetooth and then I get the indication that my devise is not attached.

Anyone have any ideas?

Best regards to all.

Hello All, I have the new kitchen rom installed and need a bit of help with the touch keyboard/touch keypad.

When I first start it (say go to programs) and tap on the keyboard symbol I get a nice large standard keyboard with the numbers on top but if I change to any program that requires that requires input the keyboard switches to the XT9 automatically and I can't seem to find a way to disable the XT9 input module.

Any ideas????

Phone locks up

I have seen my XV6700 lock-up a number of times after a soft reset. The phone gets to the Today screen and seems to load everything OK, but it is locked up at that point. The phone worked OK for a few days prior to seeing this problem.

I have seen this occur on a couple of builds I have made from the 071108_1 Kitchen.

The only way I have been able to get my phone functional (without a hard reset) is to push the reset button immediately after the Today screen comes up. After that, the phone will work OK for a while.

These phones have always been prone to freezes if you try to tap the screen before the device has fully finished rebooting. I always make it a habit to wait about 10 seconds after I see everything fully loaded on the today screen before tapping and have not had a freeze on soft reset for a while.

Also I think that HTC Task Manager has caused some issues like that--maybe other 3rd party apps too, so don't count those out as a possible cause of this.

Try building without BT FTP and see if that solves it for you.
