I guess I must clarify. On my XP PC, I have Activesync 4.5 installed. I have the .cab file for Activesync mode in a folder on my storage card, and installed it manually from there after flashing. So far I have not needed to toggle between RNDIS and usb to correct connection problems -w- activesync like I have in past WM5 and WM6 builds. One other thing I do that may be the reason for the success is deleting the device profile from activesync and starting from scratch every flash.

Just FYI that activesync mode switch cab is only needed on certain builds of WM5 AKU2 and below. WM6 (as well as WM5 AKU 3) includes the switch already in Settings->Connections->USB to PC.

I built the os, no probs, used my verizon project file... reset phone. activesynced...
current aku on phone displayed, started process.. not shortly after RUU starts screen on my vx6700 goes off, sounded as if I disconnected from the usb, activesync goes off, and within short amount of time a 201 error shows.. I tried with all memory resident programs off on DT {fw, hips, av, ASW} , I put my comp on "always on" power settings.. I even set the phones backlight to always be on,, Tried again, and still the same thing happens, I even tried this in flight mode jik...

CAn ANYone Please HElp??

my phone is still fine and intact... seems no changes were made.

Thanks for the clarification. I had started doing the same thing with my profile as well. I usually test a bunch of devices for our own internal program so I always have a bunch of them listed there. It does seem to work better if they are deleted.

I'm also going to try the one suggestion from gervy about removing the USB driver and letting it reinstall. That seems to work as well --- goes with the issue with plugging into the same usb port each time. Maybe MS will get it right eventually.

The driver on the PC or the PPC?

It's a bootloader error. When you flashed to 3.3 it changed the bootloader in your phone, and will limit your options with the WM6 kitchen. It will still work, but you'll be limited as to the amount of OEMs you can build in unless you revert your bootloader (use the search to find info on that, I never had to do it because Sprint stopped at 2.2) If you still want to try with your phone as-is, put it in bootloader (hold power and note poke reset. screen will go black and you will see Serial on the screen. plug in and use the NoId bootloader choice at the top of build OS. It should flash fine that way.) I always set mine to bootloader for flashing ROMs, since there are less errors that way.

No wonder I haven't used it! Thanks for the tip!

Where do i place these two updates(Kitchen Installer and the OEM package) on my phone and do I have to do one before the other? Thanks for any help I can receive.

These don't go on your phone (did you see how big they are?! they wouldn't even fit if you tried). They stay on your PC and facilitate creating a ROM that you flash over to your phone.

You double click the kitchen installer on your PC and allow it to extract to C:\BuildOS. Then you simply drop the PPCGeeks_OEM.rar file in that C:\BuildOS directory. Then double-click the shortcut that was placed on your desktop.

Once the program comes up just remember that you can select only a dozen or so extra things (depending on their size) so don't go crazy checking every box. I suggest being very conservative about what you put in your ROM until you have built a few and have a feel for the process. If you get an Out of Memory error or a white screen on your device after flashing the ROM that means you put on too much stuff and need to build again with less.
