Re: Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) - UPDATED 20071217
Dammit...into two days now. Fixed the bootloader problem on the other XV-6700.....Managed to get the Kitchen to work, but the RUU stops working when trying to load it onto the phone. Tried the MTTY.exe but can't get that to work so I can get around the RUU issue. Switched the RUU in the kitchen from Standard to NoId....failed to load OS to the phone. Switched it back and now I get the the Error 201: Get Device Data Error message. Uninstalled and reinstalled the kitchen and still got the same message.
Hell yeah I am frustrated: When the first WM6 kitchen came out it went off without a hitch..... but thanks to a malfunctioning button I had to get another phone, and I have been trying to change the OS to WM6 since then. I even found the original WM6 kitchen and that too has failed. Worse thing about this is that no one hangs around the forums enough to guide me in the right direction........:disgust: BTW: My bootloader is v1.04 |

You need to downgrade your bootloader. You need mtty working, and there's no reason it shouldn't work if you have AS/MDC deactivated and your phone showns even a glimmer of life.
If you don't find someone in the chat room, come back later. It's rare that no one is there that can help. |

Re: Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) - UPDATED 20071217
This comes from the Moderator, Naigaboy:
"For devices with 1.04 bootloader, you do not need the fix cos your partition sizes are not affected, thereby remaining the same. You just need to ensure that you are using the newer ruu to flash Roms (if you really want to revert back to 1.02, that is possible also)." So why do I have to downgrade further for a Kitchen that is supposed to take advantage of an old bootloader? I also had mtty working and I still got the Error 201 message. |
Re: Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) - UPDATED 20071217
You don't. you do have to recover from whatever it is you did, which means mtty. The downgrade instructions will get you from a-b without assistance. If you'd like to stay 1.04, then find someone in the chat room to help you.

Well my new phone is now a brick. If I ever manage to save this phone I won't be trying this again....this program proves to be too difficult, even if its a simple setup.

I am sorry that you are having such difficulty with your phone. It sounds like it is being a pain. While I wouldn't say that upgrading the phone is HARD, it is harder than say.. upgrading an iPod. Especially since you have to pick out all the pieces that you want yourself, and while most configs have been setup correctly, or documented not to work, it is such a nice service that is being provided for something that otherwise WOULDN'T WORK AT ALL BECAUSE THE PHONE COMPANIES AND MiCROSOFT ARE GREEDY GREEDY BASTARDS... I would suggest that you stay with your phone's original firmware, or go buy a new phone, as that will probably be easier for you. Again, sorry you have had so much trouble, but as a tech guy with no programming experiance, and after reading the last two pages of comments, it really seems to be a bit of user error on your part that is causing the problems at hand.

Re: Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) - UPDATED 20071217
His problem was that his downgrade files were missing the downgraded bootloader. No idea where he got them from. Further complicating matters is his MDC is messed up. Nothing to do with the kitchen.
