Sprint and quest extend rom question. Startup/down.wav

I notice both these extended rom's have two sound files. PhoneOn.wav and phoneOff.wav

My question is. Are these sounds for the phone, when you turn it on and off or something else?

If it is for turning on and off. Can someone rip the files and reg entry's and make it a separate oem. or just rip 'em and uploaded them and ill make an oem.

I would but i am on verizon. So i have no idea what all the programs in there do. And whats what. So i don't know where to start.

Those sounds are played when you turn the phone part on or off. Also plays "phoneOn" on soft reset. I disable it in the registry because they're annoying. But then again, you probably don't turn it off and on 6 to 10 times a day.

So here you go:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction \CDMA\FlightModeOnOFF]
"EnableSound"=dword:00000001
"Sound_off"="\\windows\\PhoneOff.wav"
"Sound_on"="\\windows\\PhoneOn.wav"

Change the dword to :0000000 to disable.

No thats not it. I tested a sprint rom on my phone. When you soft reset your phone. During the second splash screen it plays a sound. Thats what im talking about. Not turning off the radio.

But thanks anyway.

No, that is exactly it. av8tr said "Also plays "phoneOn" on soft reset." The reason it plays it then is because it is turning on the radio at that stage of the boot.

Well um .....Yes that is it.
The sound you hear on soft reset IS the radio turning on. If you turn the radio off and then soft reset, you hear "phoneOff" on boot instead. I just tested it by enabling and disabling the reg entry.

oops: looks like I double posted.

My bad. You are right. It didn't work because there is a space after PhoneExtendFunction. I guess i was to sleepy last night to catch it.
