You're right, when running the utility it appears to work, but doesn't actually apply the setting to the registry. In the mean time, if you need to hide/unhide the extended_rom, manually edit the registry:
Hide: Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\TRUEFFS_DOC1] "Bootphase"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1] "MountHidden"=dword:00000001 Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\TRUEFFS_DOC1] "Bootphase"=dword:00000002 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1] "MountHidden"=dword:00000000 Quote:

i had this problem also after the 99% error, i got it back by flashing a blank extrom image to it, the flash failing 99% corrupted a few things, along with my Model No. being wiped and breaking windows live ever since it happened.

6c got me stuck in the bootloader, the other kitchens versions I used were fine. The phone is bootloader 2.02, flashing with NoRUU updater. Flashing back to v5, still stuck. Update - a re-flash with 5 is going again.

reflash back to your carrier's latest official files, then back to the wm6 kitchen. You may have to use the noid ruu files to make it work.
