Re: Heechee's TreoPro GSM 28014 Rom WWE & older

I'll make tomorrow rom with manila and correct icon placement
so I would not keep you in suspense waiting for it, and then continue to work on other issues

I found new manila also but first I'll make this one to work in cooking

Re: Heechee's TreoPro GSM 28014 Rom WWE & older

Overall a great rom.
Couple of issues I would like to mention on v3 rom.
1. Some time locked screen can not be unlocked using the center button. I have to pull the battery out.
2. From the pictures shortcut on home screen if I select any image get error: "There is no application associate with ..."

Re: Heechee's TreoPro GSM 28014 Rom WWE & older

Guys sorry I'm not very productive today I know you are waiting but I just can't concentrate today...

for manila instalation I need to install 2 files - reset device - install 3rd - reset and then somehow apply theme and replace settings xml file and today is one of the days when nothing is going as it should

BTW total size of this files:
1. Manila320Square.CAB 6,4 M 14.12.2009 17:18 -a--
2. 2d.Manila.Engine-Beta-0.09.cab 12,0 M 14.12.2009 17:22 -a--
3. M2DC_v0.29.235.CAB 748,9 k 14.12.2009 17:49 -a--
Project_No1_Transformer.m2dct 4,0 M 21.07.2009 15:31 -a--
4. HTCHomeSettings.zip 9,3 k 14.12.2009 17:49 -a--

A lot of space... I have to figure out if it is possible to install files on SD card during first boot so we could have some RAM space available...

Re: Heechee's TreoPro GSM 28014 Rom WWE & older

Heechee, no worries about needing more time. I think everyone has those days... I can probably speak for all of us in saying that you are doing great and when you get stuff done, you get it done.

One way that you might be able to free up some extra space in the rom is by removing a bunch of the unneeded alerts, sounds, tones, images, etc found in the Windows folder. Perhaps you could provide a separate zip file with those files in there in case some people want to add the ones they like back in there.

Also, I don't know if this is doable, but there are a bunch of packages installed like Perfman, Sim Toolkit, Advanced Configuration Tool and others that could be removed after you've customized the registry with the changes that you made to the ROM and if people wanted them, I don't think the cabs are too difficult to install.

Also, you've mentioned before that it's not known how to remove some of the packages from the ROM, but there are several that I'd bet could be removed:
- Windows Media Player (not likely but would be nice to include a properly functioning audio player like Nitrogen)
- Messenger
- Bing
- MSN Money
- MSN Weather (Most people would probably prefer Titanium Weather anyway)
- Windows Live
- My Treo
- Sprite Backup

Yes I think these apps can be removed from the ram.
