Install Froyo on your iPhone 2G or 3G without a computer, using Bootlace!!

Does iOS fragmentation have your iPhone 3G sluggish and buggy? Drop Froyo on it and give it some new life! The new Bootlace app in Cydia (yes, like most things fun and unauthorized, you'll need to jailbreak) for the original iPhone and the 3G will get Froyo running without the use of a computer. Froyo for the iPhone has had the keys remapped so that the volume rocker, power button, and home button on the Apple hardware work for Android's four buttons, but there's no Google apps (Gmail, GTalk, Market, etc) available just yet.

HOW TO: Use Bootlance To Install Android OS On Your iPhone 2G/3G Without The Need Of A Computer

How to install Android on iPhone 3G / 2G with Bootlace 2.1

Step 1: Now, once you have jailbroken iPhone 2G/3G, go to the springboard of your iPhone and run Cydia. Add the repository http://repo.neonkoala.co.uk/. Now click on “Add Source” and then install “Bootlace”.

Step 2:Once Bootlace is installed successfully, you will see a icon on your sringborad as shown below. Start up the app from the homescreen.

Step 3:Now, from “Bootlace”, you have to install “OpeniBoot”.

Step 4:Once “OpeniBoot” has been installed successfully, click on the “iDroid” tab visible at the bottom and install iDroid.

Step 5:Once iDroid has been installed on your iPhone, all installations are done. Now just click “QuickBoot” tab in the bottom and then click the Android logo. You will see a message to restart your iPhone. Select “Yes” and your iPhone will reboot into Android.
This completes the Android installation on your iPhone. Now, you have Android 2.2.1 (Froyo) running on your iPhone 3G / 2G. For installing any updates to the iDroid project will comes in future releases, you just need to lod Bootlace and as in step 4 click on iDroid and update.
