Wirelessly posted (WP7 Beta Tester: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows Phone OS 7.0; Trident/3.1; IEMobile/7.0; HTC; HD7))
If a decent phone with ffc comes to Tmo, I'll drop this HD7...but I'm trying to wait for Apollo before I upgrade. |

Re: Will You Be Upgrading To A WP7 With A Front Facing Camera?
I also had a damged, cracked display on my Touch Pro 2 but, I had insurance on it and waited it out. I waited till the Trophy was released then callled them again. They offered me other phones but, I asked if I could have the Trophy (BTW, a lot cheaper phone $649.99 TP2 new, a new Trophy is $429.99). They gave it to me. I have a Trophy and still have my new every 2 $100 credit on my account.
I want a front camera device but, I'll wait to see what is released before signing a 2 year. Just because some new mango devices come out, it does not mean our carrier (Verizon) will get it. We know how Verizon is with Windows Phone 7. I expect a larger display than the trophy (4-4.3"), 1.5ghz CPU (faster for gaming), better GPU (again, gaming), 4G (Verizon LTE would be a sweet option) then everything else from FM radio, DLNA to Wi-FI as I would expect from a modern cell phone and the specs expected from a WP7 device. If I could, a slim line phone with a QWERTY keyboard, I still have problems typing on the screen. We wait from here.... Quote:
I guess if you need a 2nd phone that you can hand it down to for a family member who needed a phone anyway, it's not a big deal but, if not, I don't think its a great deal to do it that way.

@deadwrong03 I'm pretty much in the same situation ur in (have to pay retail for next phone) I'm really starting to hate when carriers control what phones we use and how often we use them (eg data caps)

Re: Will You Be Upgrading To A WP7 With A Front Facing Camera?
No upgrading here.
I honestly don't see a reason at this time to upgrade phones as the HTC Arrive has pretty much what I need. It's plenty fast for my real wants and I don't forsee all the overall proposed increased hardware specs enhancing the Windows Phone 7 experience for now. Don't do video calling so it won't be necessary for a front facing camera. If my needs change than sure I'll do it but I doubt that it will. But...... as we all know, every phone we get we say it will be our last one and that the shiny new device couldn't possibly get old or outdated nor have want to take another one out for a spin.

Re: Will You Be Upgrading To A WP7 With A Front Facing Camera?
I had a front-facing camera for a year with the EVO and never used it once... not even to "test" it or show it off, so it has no value to me at all. I would love a bigger screen, but 4.7" is just stupid big.
Bigger problem is... the new phones were announced as GSM, which means Verizon and Sprint won't see them regardless, so no I won't be upgrading to them unless either carrier adopt versions.
