That article states it won't support multitasking... crappy. android is the way to go IMO...

"The latter is practically inexcusable in this day and age -- even Apple (which has been a complete laggard in this area) now supports basic multitasking. When we heard in our meeting with Microsoft that the phone wouldn't even support something as simple as Pandora background streaming, our minds were a little blown. It's doubly irritating given the fact that just like in iPhone 1.0, the first-party apps are free to background all they want (mail loads, the browser pulls down pages, music plays in the background, etc.), so there isn't any technical reason why they couldn't extend some of this functionality to other applications. We're hoping that by some magical twist of fate these two items get addressed before launch... but we're not holding our breath."

But how stupid is that? With all the time they've had with this why not include it from the start? Just another instance of microsoft screwing themselves over.

Its more important things on WP7 for MS to focus on rather than a full blown multitasking. It does multitasking but not with 3rd party apps at this moment, I dont think this will make or break me buying this device. It will be implemented later on but i dont see what the big fuss is about.

So, can we say it's not a real smartphone when WP7 finally ships?

I sarcasticly disagree with this statement. I'm saying it's currently worse than the iPhone--it has significantly fewer apps and feature sets then the iPhone currently does. Maybe in a few years it might catch up to be in the same category but so far I completely lack interest to own it. I'll still visit it in Novemember at the AT&T store to rate the hype but I'll definately skip the first year no matter how good it seems to be.

The only way Microsoft has a chance IMO with this phone is to be less strict with app approval. If Microsoft attempts to be as facist as Apple is they have no chance of competing in this race.

Honestly.. this race is over before it even starts. Biggest thing to take into consideration is, even with the updates like froyo...android is only on their second version of their OS and even with the small upgrades, they're major compared to other OS. You can pretty much rest assured that 2011 and quite possibly 2012 will be all Android.
