I'm happy actually just knowing these phones will come with an HD radio tuner, at least the 7series that I'm getting
well, depending on which sub frequency of 2.4 that shouldn't be a problem, we're almost guaranteed wifi which is 2.4 so depending on what frequencies the controllers are and the range of the chip.... interesting to see if this is possible, even if we have to hack it

Re: WP7S: XBox Live Games

The specturm that typical Wireless B/G uses is 2.401 - 2.495 GHz, which is an open and unlicensed spectrum and can be used by any device for wireless. The Xbox 360 controllers utilize a 2.4 GHz spectrum, however that one is closed and reserved for only their use via a spectrum license. Therefore, I do not see an easy way to get the Xbox 360 controllers to work with a Windows Phone 7 hardware device, as the spectrums will not match and therefore the devices will not see each other.

The Xbox 360 controllers can utilize a small USB wireless receiver for connectivity with a PC for gaming, but the USB receiver is known to draw a good deal of power and even if you could get it to work with a Windows Phone 7 device, it would likely draw too much power and drain the battery of the device very quickly.

I think what they were talking about at MWC is a new line of mobile platform games that will allow users to play new and ported games on their phones; which will help increase their gamerscore and allow them to play with their current friends on XBL. Unless anyone here can convince me that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 would actually run on a mobile device.

Yeah, good luck with that.

Re: WP7S: XBox Live Games

Are you guys telling me that Halo 2 will run on a WP7 ???? heh...lol. No, more simple games, that you can play on-line against other users, possably on xbox live on a 360 or PC.

I hope they can do almost like a 360 game...that would rule, I would not need to carry my PSP or DS on long trips any more...awsome

At least we'll have multi touch now....Ever play one of the NES/SNES emulators with all the buttons on the screen ? Let's say it does not work very well when the phone will only see one push at a time...

Still, a game like halo with just a touch screen ? Nah... Blutooth with a Wii controller....that might work

Re: WP7S: XBox Live Games

it would probably be something similar to the apps for my ipod touch. i have call of duty and a few other games from xbox downloaded and some from playstation as well. the controls show up on the screen just like the actual controller. for non-touchscreen devices these games assign buttons on the phone for certain functions.
