USA vs CANADA wireless rate plans?

I am always told that we in canada are screwed over a barrel from the wireless companies... And for the most part i think everyone feels this way.. Rogers release of the iphone with extremly limited bandwith caps was just an example(this within months of bells 7$unlimited and telus 15$ unlimited both of wich are now gone!)

From the canadian side of things i find the contracts flexible enough but i wish there was more portability with being able to swich carriers easier while keeping your phone and not locking into contracts to get good rates.

anyway i would like to there from the vets what are the pros and cons of each counties wireless carriers.. Price? phone selection? ect ect..

I understand that our lack of competition is what keeps Canadian wireless where it is...

Re: USA vs CANADA wireless rate plans?

You understand in the United States the carriers are the same way, right? There are ETF, and phones are locked to their carriers as well. Sure, every once in awhile you can get Sprint to unlock your CDMA phone so you can use it at Verizon and sometimes you can get Tmobile to unlock your GSM phone so you can use it at AT&T... but it's usually locked.
