Dont Hate Me
Just some background information:
I have been a long time sufferer of less than acceptable windows mobile phones and poor sprint customer service. my last phone, HTC Mogul, was replaced almost 5 times and finally i was fed up with it and bought the touch diamond when it came out (bad move). I have had SO many problems with it that its not even funny, and sprint has done nothing to help me regardless of my status. My father was a sprint exec for many years (he was one of the first 300 employees and many sprint execs ive talked to have recognized my last name because of him) and we, of course, are sprint premier customers but none of this matters because they refuse to discount me another phone even when I threaten to leave and take the remainder of our lines (5 of them). My dad has already left for AT&T and is in love with his iPhone. The other day, I devised a plan.
So let me run everyone through my thought process on this:
Ive heard about the Touch Pro replacement program and it got me thinking. I can buy a Touch Pro off craigslist for around $150 (i will check the ESN with sprint before buying to make sure its clear). After I buy one, I can either wait for it to break (which you know it will) or maybe have it just happen to "break" all of a sudden. Then I can trade it in for one of the phones on the WEL list (BB Tour, TP2, yadda, yadda, yadda), then sell that phone, and then use that money to buy a Hero, which is what ive been asking sprint to discount me on.
I know this is taking advantage of the system and exploiting sprint and making those who sincerely do have a problem look bad, however, I am fed up with faulty windows mobile phones and sprint not standing behind their customers. So, does anyone see any issues with this plan, besides moral ones? Will it matter to sprint that ive only had my Touch Pro for a short while, most likely only a week or two?
Thanks,
Eric
