Microsoft Exchange

Ok call me a noob all you want because this is a very noobish question. What is microsoft exchange mail? I ask this because of the rumored extra $15 a month that verizon will charge for the droid to use it. Currently I use windows live to sync with my email or use BlackBerry service to do it when I'm using my BB. But can I use Microsoft exchange to sync a hotmail account? Just asking because I am thinking about getting it but the hell with it if I have to pay an extra $15 a month to sync my email. Thanks for the help and be kind with your answers.....

Re: Microsoft Exchange

Microsoft Exchange is an enterprise level email solution. It's used in large corperations to provide email. You can also buy exchange accounts on some commercial sites. In addition to email it also provides contact, calendar and task sync.

Your hotmail account will be unaffected if Verizon charges for exchange.

Re: Microsoft Exchange

Move to Gmail and you get free push mail from them. That's what I use.

Re: Microsoft Exchange

Windows Live has a mobile application that allows 2 way push mail and contact sync.

That said, it looks like Verizon is back peddling on the fee.
