Auto Connect WIFI app?

Is there any APP or setting to auto connect to OPEN(NON secure) WIFIs?
for example I have my email to autocheck every 5 min.......if I am walking down a street and the cell phone gets some signal from an open wifi... I want it to connect automatically and therefore downloading my emails...

how could i achieve that?

Edit: I am doing this because...with the MMS and WAP settings ( metropcs) I can either .... SUrf the web .... or check my email using EVDO

not the 2 things..... i have to change settings for either one work ..
