BIG QUESTION about kithens and updating creating roms

Im confused about what will happen to my htc diamond. I am currently using a sprint HTD, but im am not on the network i am about to flash it ito revol my local cdma network with unlimited everything for only 49.99 The catch is that you cant use browsing or pic mail since you flashed and it also cost about 35 bucks. but my question is thatt if i flash it and dowload a rom using any kitchen or what not should it be ok?
