Activating different phones on different carriers

I have a question, and I am hoping that you all can help me. I have been researching that the Rhodium is coming possibly to both Sprint or Verizon. But I was wondering, if I bought the device from Sprint and I wanted to activate the device on my Verizon account, how would i do that?

I know I can unlock the phone, and put the correct software ROM on it, but is there anything else that I need to do?
