NSA-Approved Windows Mobile Phone
That right Ladies and Gentlemen. Here's the scoop....(and keep reading....the best part is at the end)
Barak Obama is a BlackBerry junkie. But presidents aren't allowed to have cell phones. So, not only is he the first black president, but now he will be the first president to have a cell phone. How you ask? General Dynamics, maker of the F-16 and lots of other cool stuff that goes BOOM, has made the first NSA-approved mobile phone. It's called the Sectera Edge. It's also ruggedized because it's also available to the military. It costs around $3,350 with no add-ons. The part I thought was cool, because I'm an "IT Guy" was how they deal with the "secure" part of it. It turns out that the NSA has a new program/initiative for mobile device encryption called the Secure Mobile Environment Portable Electronic Device (SME PED). It works in conjunction with the SIPRNET...the DoD's secure intranet. The phone has a built-in smartcard reader. You slide you CAC ID card in the bottom of the phone to authenticate to SIPRNET, and then all data and voice is encrypted. Of course there are special email servers you have to have....but the device works on all major carriers as there are several version of the phone. All device versions are "World Phones". Available on Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, AllTel, Orange, Rodgers....and everything else. But the best part....it runs on Windows Mobile! Get all the juicy details on General Dynamic's Sectera Edge product page. http://www.gdc4s.com/content/detail....2-55106fbaff32
