oily looking spot in middle of the touch screen???

the screen was perfect when i first got it and i haven't done anything to it until this morning. i put on a seidio screen protector (it sucks don't buy it), it looked great and there were no bubbles nothing. now i see a oily residue in the middle. so naturally i think my oily face deposited oil on the screen. i wipe. nothing happens. i try to press it out, but it is like a iridescent fish in the water dodging my attempts to banish it from my screen. i take the screen protector off. it's still there. i wipe. still there. time to freak out.

what is that spot. with the screen protector on it is much larger but with it off it's pinpoint. i think i am going crazy. i think it is static electricity damage to the screen, is that possible? I didn't even put it near a magnet.
