ROM Update via Mirco SD Card - ??????

A friend of mine jsut got the original T-mo Shadow and she doesnt know how to use it at all. Just from a few of the things she told me about the phone< i can tell it hasnt been updated to WM6.1 or possibly WM6.0. if I download the ROM update from her onto a Micro SD card, can I update the phone from it?

I have a SBP Backup and it has that new ROM Upgrade feature. Could I use that program to do it?

Btw: HTC made the Shadow, correct? Lets say I used one of my TP or Mogul backups on her phone. Would it work and if so, would it still work on Tmo or would it reprogram the phone to Sprint? Just an idea. I know people have been trying to port TF3D to other device and older devices. Since SOPB Backup copies the entire phone, wouldnt it also copy all drivers?

please post your thoughts.

Thx
