personaly I find things like Icontact, pocketrar, games and other really simple programs that are just .exe's and don't really get involved with the system are fine on the storage card however more advanced programs and home customizers are better off on the device. just personal pref.

I agree with everyone that has posted above. certain Programs or Apps wont work properly on the storage card.

if it is a core component (.net framework) or a today item, ringtone or something that runs at boot - install to the device. most everything else goes on the card.

Re: is it better to install softeare to a memory card or the pocket pc itself?

A general rule of thumb is if a program runs on your today screen (e.g, Weather Panel, Mobile Shell, etc.) then it should be installed on device memory. Everything else can pretty much go onto your card.

late,
Coz

Re: is it better to install softeare to a memory card or the pocket pc itself?

This is how I do mine. Everything that is involves customization goes on the phone. Everything else is in the card. If the proggy is not suppose to be in the card, It will be installed in the phone anyways. Example is Opera mobile 9.5. It will go to your phone whether you choose to install it on the card.
