PPC 6700 , Problems with "push email" using Gmail

Maybe you guys can help. I sent the following to Mail2web tech support. I have the $1.95/month account that lets me use my Gmail as the "from" address. See below...

I have a POP3 Gmail account where email is being forwarded from there to my Mail2web Exchange account. I also set the primary "from" address to show my Gmail email. I have Activesync with my PPC-6700 handeld device. Now I am having two problems:

Problem # 1: When I send an email from my PPC-6700 in Pocket Outlook, the message is not saved in the "Sent folder." But it does show up in my sent folder on the Mail2web Exchange server website via my home computer, but not on my handheld device.

Problem # 2: When I send an email from my PPC-6700, it is not saved in my Gmail sent folder when I log on to my account at Gmail.com. Is that because I am using the mail2web Exchange server as my outgoing mail server? I used to have a BlackBerry 8700g, and when I sent an email from my BlackBerry (using my Gmail address), it would show up in my Gmail sent folder. If BlackBerry can do it, then I can do it this way too, right?

Please let me know how I can fix these problems.

You can change this setting in Gmail. Go to where you set it to forward and make sure it is set to keep the mail, archive it, or whatever you want.

I've looked all over the web, tried various things, and still it doesn't work. I have tried it in Office 2003 and Office 2007.

I don't really care because I use the exchange server, but it would be nice since I cannot sync my PPC to my PC Outlook for some reason. It just won't do it. It will do it after a reformat of my PC, but shortly after(about a week) it doesn't do it anymore. It will allow me to Explorer and transfer files, but it won't sync my contacts and calendar properly. It just puts blank ones in and I have tried absolutely everything I can think of. Deleted AS from the computer, uninstalled Office, deleted my PPC partnership, the whole 9 yards. Still it fails after about 10 tries or sooner. I have posted my issue in several forums and no on seems to be able to assist.

I hope someone here can help even though this thread isn't the best place for it. I will start a new one if necessary.

Thanx

You misunderstood my original question. My Gmail is forwarding my emails to my Exchange email address, and also keeping a copy on the Gmail account. The problem that I am having is that when I send an email from my 6700 Outlook, I have two problems: 1) It does not show up in my 6700 Outlook "sent" folder. 2) It does not show up in my Gmail account "sent" folder. The only "sent" folder that it show up in, is on my mail2web Exchange server.

Correct! It will never show in your Gmail sent folder unless you reply to it from the Gmail server because you sent it from your exchange server instead of google's. It WILL show in your Pocket Outlook sent folder if you have it selected in your phone's options to do so(saving sent items).

This is the only way. Other than that you have what it does down pat and there is no way to change it.

OK, I got it to now show my sent email on my pocket outlook. Apparently you have to manually select to sync the "sent" folder under "manage folders" on the pocket outlook options.

But when I use to have my BlackBerry, I would send email from my BlackBerry using my Gmail... but again, it was sent from my BlackBerry! Then there would always be a copy in my Gmail sent folder if I ever needed to go back later.

The problem is I am having some sent items on my mail2web sent folder and some on my Gmail sent folder, depending upon where I am sending email from.

Bottom line - BlackBerry just has way better overall email. The push is faster, especially when sending, but also a little faster on receiving too.

I had (and still have) a BlackBerry 8700g through T-Mobile.

This is how I think it is better than the PPC-6700:

Like I said earlier, the BlackBerry "push" email is completely integrated, and you can add on any emial account that you want without have to go through this difficult process like with the PPC-6700. With the PPC-6700, I had to first set up an account at Mail2web for $2.00 per month. Then I had to change my Gmail settings to forward to my Mail2web Exchange server. Then I had to set up Activesync on my PPC-6700. The BlackBerry email is faster on both sending and receiving too.

Most importantly, I can get an unlimited international data plan through T-Mobile for $20 extra per month and use the 8700g anywhere in the world with GPRS service. I get unlimited email / internet. I can also tether it to my computer anywhere in the world (and in the USA) and basically have an internet connection on my laptop anywhere in the world (included in the $20 per month).

Other than that though, the PPC-6700 is better. The BlackBerry 8700g completely SUKS for internet!! EVDO is wayyyy faster than the T-Mobile EDGE.

So there you have it. I think that I'll be keeping both since I travel international about once every two weeks.

And by the way, I still can not get the sent emails to show up in my Gmail sent box. I emailed Mail2web tech support and they said that you could not do that. Oh well.
