This is AWESOME!! I have an exchange server with school but it will expire soon. I was looking for a new way and sure didn't want to PAY for it!!
THANKS! Just a note, if you already have an exchange server set up in your phone, you will have to delete it to get this to work. Don't worry though, you wont loose any calenders, contacts, etc. To delete it, you have to go to Active Sync--> Menu --> Options. Select the current server and hit Delete. Now you will be able to setup the mail2web exchange server. |
i too am using mail2web (well trying) and keep ending up with an error. hoping you guys will be of some help.
activesync encountered a problem on the server. support code: 0x85010014 i |
Anytime I have encountered a problem like that, it was a temporary problem on mail2web's side that fixed itself within an hour. Just to be sure make sure you go through your server settings and double check that everything was typed in correctly.

Does anyone else have a problem with this EXTREMELY draining your battery? I even tried setting the schedule so that it would only sync manually and it kept pushing them through. I don't get much mail on the weekends and Sat I kept trying to figure out why the battery was draining so quickly, but nothing seemed to work. Any suggestions on extending battery life? This is on a 700wx, btw.

thanks man, the problem seems to have cleared up.

Could it be something else? |

Well it should not be connecting to the server every single time you look at it. Usually it will always check after a phone call since the data connection is not available while on the phone.
If your arrows are ALWAYS circling then maybe it's your signal or there's an issue with the server. Only once I had a issue when the server was down and my WX kept trying to connect and it drained my battery. But after the server was back up everything was back to normal. Being in a 1X vs. an EVDO area should not matter as far as battery consumptiom. A data connection is a data connection. |
wide, im having an issue with A/S and my computer now ever since setting up my mail2web account. When I connect my USB to my PPC, it opens activesync and tries to connect to the exchange server, not my PC. I'll also get a message on my desktop that says activesync cannot complete syncronization. Other than deleting the server, im not sure what else to do!

Looks like we need a captcha for new user signups. I will alert Mike.

HTML format?
Waiting the wm6 upgrade :) for my treo, I'm trying the new beta of FlexMail: it's good now, better than the older version. I've set my mail2web account and other my account.
The mails to mail2web aren't in html format, the other account yes. Why? Maybe mail2web don't support this? :o ...or maybe, during the redirecting, it loss this format? same mail to gmail is in html, redirect to mail2web no. (???) TIA for your replay, in this days I can't try to verify on the pc this issue on my treo. ;) and, naturally, sorry for my english |
Anyone having issues with Mail2Web today? I'm trying to send myself a CAB file, as I usually do, and apparently the e-mail never even reaches my Mail2Web Inbox.
Usually when I e-mail myself a CAB is there almost instantly. Anyone else? |
Will having mail forwarded to phone require me to have Text messaging on my sprint account?
Thanks Kcman |
nope just data :)

nice guide works great

I must be a total dunce. I signed up for it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get my info on my computer (contacts, outlook emails etc. ) from my computer to my phone via this thing. Or any emails actually.
Where do I set that up?? |
Well if you signed up for the free plan you cannot sync your actual computer to the server, you need the paid plan for that.
The most effecrtive way to do this is to sync your device with the contacs on your PC and then sync the device to the mail2web server. Unless you sign up for the paid plan, the only way to check mail2web on your PC is via the web interface. |
This should be a sticky somewhere.

This is awesome...just what I was looking for...
I have my old Dell Axim x51v...which had all my contacts on it...but I could not find a way to beam all contacts at once to my HTC p4000..... with this service it uploaded my contacts to the mail2web exchange server and then I configured my p4000 to sync as well.....piece of cake! big big thanks to you all! |
Ok, this is a great set up for syncing my calendar and tasks on a constant basis. I really didn't have a problem with the way email was working before but hey, the quicker the better.
Here are my issues: 1) I can't seem to make the my emails come through as html. Any suggestions? When I check online the emails are there in html but when they go to my Mogul they are converted to text. I found the setting on the mogul but it keeps defaulting back to "text only" 2) I still want to be able to sync with my PC but ever since I set this up, I can't do that. I tried using the comm manager to turn off my data connections to force the pc and the mogul to recognize each other. The device keeps saying that in order to connect I need to update the PC to ActiveSync 4.5, which is what is loaded. Any suggestions or insight? |
Sounds Great
Pardon my ignorance, but i just got my PPC and am learning all about it.
Does this setup: 1) Cause a data connection to stay on all the time, in order to get the pushes? 2) If the data connection stays on all the time, does it draw more battery than if the data connection was terminated? If so, is the runtime noticeably different? 3) Does hitting the on/off button on the phone (think it just kills the screen) affect this setup? UPDATE: Just set it up. Sure is sweet. When my device received the mail notification, it didn't make any sounds but when i turned on the screen it showed the new mail icon on the top. How do i enable the sound for that? Thanks! Thanks in advance! |

2) Not really 3) no I would like to add that having direct push connected all the time dose cause a minimal amount of battery drain, it also has some side benefits. Like google maps requires a data connection but will not establish one on its own, with direct push connected you don't need to establish the connection to use this program, speeds things up allot. Also while connected the data stream still becomes dormant so the minimum amount of battery is used. I highly recommend this service, its free and ther are many other benefits from having all your PIM stored where you can access it at any time. This has saved me many timed in the almost 3 years I have been using it. :) |

Just signed up. Can't believe how great this works. Who needs a blackberry!!!
|
i set it up but it will not let me put in ad2 in the domain after i put the @ symbol in for my username. it syncs ok but will this be a security problem or anything since it does not have anything in the domain box.
|
With AOL?
I know nothing about AOL email but a friend of mine just got her first PPC. Does anyone know if there is a way to forward your AOL email to mail2web?
|

So I set up the account and configured my 6800 to the settings in the instructions, but not getting emails on my phone. Do I need to get the updated rom or do I need to setup new E-mail account. I found my error didnt put the i in mobile for the exchange server. :)
|
I must be doing something wrong. I set everything up as instructed in the first post and my email is not being pushed to my phone. One thing I noticed is that on the mail2web site, it says to use username_mail2web_ as the username instead of the username@mail2web email address - the problem is, I can't change my username now. How do I delete everything and start over?
Forget it - figured it out. Changing the username as indicated above seems to have done the trick. |
Anyone figure out why the emails don't come in as html?
|
Because mail2web has not upgraded to Exchange 2007 yet.
|
On my Mogul the "Domain" field is greyed out and I can enter the ad2 but it seems to be working anyone else have this issue?
|
Yes. Don't worry, just skip it... it'll work.

From the mail2web website...
http://services.mail2web.com/Help/On...egory=Exchange Answer: mail2web.com is planning to upgrade all customers from our current Exchange 2003 platform to the new Microsoft Exchange 2007 platform. Although Exchange 2007 has already been released, the tools needed to upgrade accounts from Exchange 2003 to 2007 are not yet available. We expect to begin planning and preparations for the upgrades after these tools become available. However, all customers Business Exchange Professional can now receive a free upgrade to Outlook 2007. |
