Re: Seven Beta -push email slow?
Initial polling is slow for me (usually after a soft reset or a prolonged inactive connection) it takes 1min & 30sec long to get it.
Normally though its under a minute, est-45 seconds maybe. never instant unless its very small in size. (Guessing thats the norm.) I have GMail & Yahoo! set up BTW.... |

so youre saying if theres a dormant connection, it will be slow?? if say you have 24 hrs with zero email, will the push email still be IDLE"?? (in your experience, will it still push after a dormant connection? or will i have to manually send recieve to get the connection rolling?) |

Re: Seven Beta -push email slow?
Yes thats when it is slow.
Usually it will still push, regardless. You can tell when it does one from a dormant state because when it does reconnect to push new mail coming in, it'll toss a pop-up for each account, claiming its up to date. I tend to hate those. So no, no need to manual send receive. I remember with Windows Live hotmail if it went dormant for too long, it wouldn't push until you either re-synced or send/received. However Seven will do its thing, unassisted. So if new mail does come, it'll get the ball rolling with an active connection.. |
