Sim card readers

Anyone familiar with sim card readers? I am the Blackberry admin for my company and get ALOT of sim cards and if I have to insert them into some phone to check to see if they are active, that's pretty time consuming..

I purchased a sim card reader and it only allowed it to copy sim entries from one sim to the other.. what I specifically need is a sim card reader that allows me to read what phone number is attached to the SIM card.. Anyone know if this exists?
