If I switch the carrier Nextel to Sprint. Do I pay?

I bought new sprint phone from Sprint Discout and paid $0.00 for 6700.

There was no activation fee and comes with 1st month is free also.

What a deal!!

So, I finally got a new line from Sprint on last Monday.


Today, 1 hour ago, I just talk with 3 different rep. about porting number from Nextel to Sprint, asked about early term. fee.
And they said there is no early term. fee if I port the number from Nextel to sprint. Because I am still Sprint/Nextel customer.
I even asked about new number that I just got from sprint.
They said it's not a problem. I don't pay anything.


So, I did. I ported Nextel old number to Sprint.
And there is No early term. fee.



And I called to the place that I got a phone with service which is Sprint Discount (You can find this company at e**y with $0.99 for PPC-6700)
I told them about what I did.
And.....
.
.
.
.
They ran amuck at what I did.

They said...
" You cannot port the number in next 180 days."
This is their policy I got via email and he repeated at that time.
But, I did not attend at all when I received email.
He said
" Call sprint right a way and stop the processing about porting the number, If You don't keep your New number, If you port the number, than You have to pay full price of the phone in next 1-2 months.."

I never knew about this I might have to pay full price of phone.
But I said, I will. Because, sprint said it will take about 4 hours to process.
And I dont want to pay full price of the PPC-6700.

But it was too late when I called sprint again.

I already got my old Number.

I don't feel good about this.

Surely, Do I have to pay full price of the phone?

This doesn't surprise me at all. "Sprint Discount" is an authorized Sprint seller, they are not Sprint. With any authorized dealer you will sign (write/verbal) a secondary contract stating that no changes will be make on the account for X number of days/months. This is to ensure Sprint pays them the commission for signing you up. Since this contract was broken you should still receive the standard Sprint discount ($75 or $150), but will loose the extra discounts applied by the authorized dealer. Like I mentioned in my first post you may want to call retentions to see if they can get you a better deal.

this sounds similar to what happen to me when i ported over. it was like i spoke to all the reps at sprint to port my number over. and im never buying a phone from an authorized dealer.

This is what I happened.

I had 2 Nextel phones with Family plan that I used 5 months.
I don't like the service my area and hate to use.
So, I open new account with Sprint with 2 phones but not Family plan.
And I got these from Sprint Discount those I paid nothing for 6700 & 700wx.
Also I don't care about my NEW numbers.

It doesn't look like that I switched Nextel to Sprint.
Because they are totally different numbers.
Well, of course Nextel asked me ETF by closing Nextel account.
But if I port the number from Nextel to Sprint. Then there is no ETF.
I told them that I want to port the numbers.
So I can save 400 bucks for 2 ETF.
What a nice.
So I ported 2 numbers from Nextel to Sprint.

Happy with waht I did.
But it was only 1 sec.

Right after that, Sprint Discount(Telesales) asked me for full prices of these phone.
Because I changed my new phone number before 6 months.
This was their term and condition. So I was almost crazy.


But simply I returned phone to Sprint and told sprint that I got from Telesales.
I didn't mention anything. And they sent 2 Return packing slips. So I sent them right a way.

I contacted Sprint Discount and explained.
They re-ordered 2 new phones and plan again for me with REAL NEW account.
They were great and very nice to me even I did mistake.


Right now. I have 6700 and 700wx in my hand.(1 for my wife's)

Well..

Where is 400 dollars?
