Re: Meeting With Smartphone Lead of USCC
Hi Adam, thanks for the Q opportunity. Will US Cellular continue to offer the Vogue (HTC Touch, CDMA)? Until when? After that, will there be any similar WinMo device that is light (less than 4.0 oz.), powerful (at least v6.5), and has a nice big 5-way hardware navigation pad?

Re: Meeting With Smartphone Lead of USCC
I can answer your first question. The Touch (ppc6900) has been discontinued for a while. Lots of stores still have stock due to it not selling, and associates not pushing it. I happen to have about 6 used at my 2 stores.
What I am trying to accomplish by talking to this guy (doubt I will have any impact) is to get US Cellular to carry some forward thinking devices. You bet your sweet ass I'm going to be campaigning for a Snapdragon (possibly better) + 1GB Ram or better phone, with capacitive screen. There are plenty out there that companies don't have exclusivity on. USCC is just slow on the pickup of everything. Last edited by skuddy; 01-25-2010 at 08:23 PM. |

Re: Meeting With Smartphone Lead of USCC
One thing I would like to see is better smartphone support on the US Cellular website, it still lists the Q and the Touch in the support section, they are on the Touch Pro 2 now, and still don't have anything about the original. Also, an official fix for the 2016 text bug would be nice.
OT: Just got your message. No worries. I talked to a rep on the phone the next day I think it was and they said I was stuck with the Touch Pro until my normal upgrade eligibility date. |
