I just find it funny that people will always post "you need to jailbreak it to do anything good with it"....when this site is full of posts talking about how the first thing you should do with a new WinMo is find a custom ROM and flash it to make it better.

No you wouldnt carry a desktop around. Thats what LAPTOPS are for.

Why are you sending it back? I have done all kinds of crap to this phone including dropping it onto pavement screen first from the front seat of a truck, and it still hasnt broken. When you send out any other phone for repair you dont have a phone for 2 weeks either. No difference

I gotta disagree with you guys on this one. Jailbreaking an iPhone is in no way analogous to unlocking a WM phone. WM phones can run any program or app that is compatible without having to unlock it. Also, while the multitasking implementations on a jailbroken iPhone are "pretty," (multiflow w/ backgrounder has a nice interface, much like the Pre) the functionality is not reliable. For those of you that have used an iPhone you know that not all programs will reliably run in the background. For instance, I have backgrounded games so I could pause and send a message only to find out that the game did not keep running but decided to close.

I've dropped a couple of iPhones and the screens have shattered. Luckily they are pretty easy to replace and you can buy them online for like $25. But, back to the point of carrying around computers. The iPhone is more dependant on having a computer to hook up to than is a WM phone. I see the point that was being made and I absolutely agree.

Microsoft looks the other way with flashing ROMs. Apple doesn't.

so what both void your warranty if you dont return to stock before turning in and both make the experience that much better. they may not be equal but pretty much everyone saying iphone doesn't have basic functionality are running custom roms and in my eyes if you're willing to flash you're willing to jailbreak. so i dont get what all the complaining is for.

and i could really care less if apple or MS approve of what we are doing, its not like either offers any support and sadly apple keeps its OS more up to date than MS so whats the advantage there again??

and proswitcher is much better than mulitiflow, you should really give it a try, ive been watching live NBA games and been able to exit out , post on facebook status about the game and return right back to the stream with no issues. (on ipod)

But as well, there are plenty of people that do not take the iPhone as a serious device. Even Apple said it wasn't aimed for the business division. I've heard many stories about how people weren't hired because they busted out an iPhone. I still stand by my opinion that I think less of people with one.

i've stayed out of this, but with the iphone, it's love and hate. i hate that people with one thinks it's the end to all cell phones, there will never be anything made better. i love it because everyone else has to step up to compete. bigger things came and are coming because of the iphone.

I currently have the HTC Pure, and I am loving. It's one of the best phones I have had, but there are somethings I wish were different about it.

isn't that the theme though? i loved my treo 700wx until the touch came out, then i loved it til the pro came out, then i loved it til the pro2 came then i...you get the message!
