WM to Android transfer Q's?

Not sure where to ask this, but I just got the Eris and want to know how can I transfer my contacts/sms/calendar from WM to Android. I tried that Active sync method, where you wireless sync(via wifi in this case) to gmail, but I was getting an error that I could not fix. Therefore, I am looking to see what other options I have. I would also like to transfer my SMS, however this seems a bit harder as I have the Palm SMS software installed, which is a bit different from default WM SMS software(be it 6.0 or 6.1). I thought I remember seeing a software like SPB back up or the similar that would allow you to do it, but I can't seem to locate it so I could be wrong? Thank you.
